We just completed the media stats for 2008-09. 90% of the materials "shipped" were digital files from EdVideo, Learn360 or our own titles. Only 10% of the materials were physically shipped to the districts. All media projects (110 titles) being purchased this summer will be digital files.
This will be my last post to this blog. I am retiring and July 31 will be my last day. As I was thinking about my work as a librarian and administrator, I thought of the many things that have changed. 34 years ago when I started it was all about books. Now it is about information. Back then, we had film strips and 3/4 inch video tapes. Now we have digital files and blogs. Back then we didn't know what a personal computer was, now we have Blackberries. There was no e-mail or online databases. Back then school librarians had no School Library System, now they have a full support network.
The picture attached is our new house (hopefully we can move in next week).
